For nearly three years, I documented my van’s build on the Promaster forum and on my woodworking forum.  Now, Photobucket has hijacked all my posted photos and holds them for a large ransom.  This website recreates that documentation so that others may benefit.

Most people would consider the van finished.  It is certainly totally functional.  I will probably always consider it a  work in progress because there is always something I can improve.  In the upfitting process, MrNomer and I have fairly distinct roles.  The design and woodworking are mine.  The electrical and metal working are his.

As of 2018, MrNomer and I are in our early-mid 70’s.  Hiking is our “thing,” both because we like it and because it keeps us in shape.   Hiking is much more pleasant after a good night’s sleep.

UPDATE: It is now 2023. MrNomer is approaching 80 with me a few years behind. We are still active hikers, and with 220,000 miles, the van is doing its part to keep us active.

Over the years, I have made numerous additions/upgrades to the van. It is rare to come home without a to-do list of some kind. Nothing needed doing. I’m just not ready for the building process to end. It’s not a chore. It’s fun.

So it is now time to update this build blog. I don’t know how long it will take me to address each existing section and add new ones–after all, we have places to go and hikes to take.
